Together

All the creatures in the sea
Loved to watch her gliding past
Captivated by her vibrant hues
Transfixed by her beguiling trick
Of changing colour on demand
Yes everyone loved her,
At first.

They could look but never touch
Although she wanted to so much
For the barest glancing caress
From her poisoned limbs meant
Death.

And so she wandered on her own
Always admired
Always alone
Until one day she found him.
Her anchor.
And she wrapped herself around him
Travelling together
Through all the colours of the ocean
And the silhouettes of sunset.
